Church Update 6-30-06

Hey, Everyone,

I wanted to update you on a few things the deacons--Jim Waller and Don Lacy--and I are working on. Last night we met and went over the church's proposed constitution, line-by-line. We've made some slight changes and will be presenting it to everyone soon. Then we'll announce a business meeting. We're shooting to have the proposed constitution to you in two weeks. So stay tuned.

We also discussed the budget and will be presenting it to you at the the same time as the constitution for your approval. We believe we are making headway on the foundation of the church we will need to continue our growth. So let's keep crawling. One day soon we will walk.

I'm starting a new sermon series this Sunday called, "All the Mountains of the Bible." We'll be studying the significance of each mountain in the Bible. It seems that everything of significance happened on a mountain. This Sunday we're discussing Mount Ararat, the mountain where Noah's ark came to rest after the Flood. You won't believe what happened!

BTW, Jill told me this afternoon that someone found the remains of Noah's Ark on Mount Ararat. She heard it on Good Morning America, which was kind of cool since I'd planned on doing it this Sunday. Here's a link to read more about that discovery: Noah's Ark

So look forward to seeing you Sunday. I know some of you will be on vacation this week, so have a safe trip.
