Follow the Leader- Thursday May 8, 2008
Joshua 1:5-6 “As I was with Moses, so I will be with you; I will never leave you or forsake you. Be strong and courageous, for you shall give this people possession of the land which I swore to their fathers to give them.” God had commissioned Joshua to lead the Israelites into the Promised Land. Before Joshua could succeed, he needed to have support from his officers.
The officers encouraged him by assuring him of their complete obedience. Joshua 1:16and they answered Joshua, saying “All that you have commanded us we will do, and wherever you send us, we will go."
The officers encouraged Joshua by praying for him (v. 17). “Just as we obeyed Moses in all things, so we will obey you: only may The Lord thy God be with you, as He was with Moses.”
The officers encouraged Joshua by reminding him of the Word of God (v. 18) “Be strong and courageous.” They repeated the words that God had earlier spoken to Joshua. “Be strong in the Lord and the power of His might.” Eph. 6:10.
Today and every day let us make a commitment to pray for Robbie’s ministry and leadership. Pray that God will make him strong and courageous and bless his ministry at Vintage Faith. Pray also for his "officers", Don, Jim and Vernon.
